Your new role…

We are offering an opportunity within our Energia Renewables business for an experienced financial accountant to work in a faced paced, challenging environment. The ideal candidate with be commercially minded with a strong track record of delivering high quality, timely financial information to key stakeholders. This role will comprise of the responsibility for management of all Energia’s onshore windfarm and solar assets, those in operation, development and construction. The role will involve working with a finance team of 6-8 team members who are responsible for delivering financial results together with key internal and external reporting deadlines.

 

Main Duties:

  • Full Responsibility of Monthly & Quarterly Senior Management Accounts & Reporting to include;
    • Standard P&L preparation and analysis
    • Working capital & cash flow balance sheet / forecasting and reporting
    • Presentation of results to management in a clear and concise fashion, highlighting areas of risk
  • Annual Business Planning & Rolling Monthly Forecasts (LBE)
    • Planning & budgetary control of operating & maintenance costs in line with approved budgets, financial models and cash flow constraints.
    • Capital Expenditure Planning including budget control and stock management
  • Operating costs & Fixed Asset Management and Budgetary control:
    • Oversee and ensure appropriate procurement controls and compliance with Financial Limits of Authority
    • Financial management and ongoing support of long-term maintenance contractual arrangements
    • Works directly with the AP / AR team with responsibility on overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Audit, Financial Control & Statutory Accounting
    • Lead contact and support to audit both external and internal, coordinating with the wider Energia Group.
    • Coordinate tax compliance throughout the Energia Group including compliance with VAT, RCT, CIS and PAYE
    • Preparation of Regulatory & Statutory accounts

The post will be offered on a fixed term contract basis and will include an attractive benefits package, including a salary to reflect the skills and experience of the successful candidate.  The post will be based in our offices at Ashtowngate, Navan Road, Dublin 15

      

Essential Criteria

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Proven experience of delivering board level reports which explain all aspects of financial management and reporting to business stakeholders
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and to delegate effectively and a track record of achievements through others
  • Excellent IT skills, especially in relation to Microsoft applications and Excel in particular

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in a similar role in the Energy or Utility industry
  • Experience of SAP and Cognos
