Appointment of new Chairperson at Energia Group

Gary McGann has been appointed Chair of the Energia Group Board and Paul Mulvaney has also joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Gary McGann is one of Ireland’s most experienced corporate leaders and he comes into this role at a pivotal moment for the Group’s growth strategy. McGann has held senior executive and board roles across multiple sectors including aviation, packaging and financial services. His extensive experience in corporate governance, strategic transformation, and large-scale organisational leadership will support Energia Group as it accelerates its contribution to the energy transition and the realisation of wider growth opportunities across the economy.

Welcoming the appointment of Gary McGann as Chair of the Energia Group Board, Ian Thom, CEO of the Group, said:

Paul Mulvaney joins the Energia Group Board as Non-Executive Director, bringing deep sectoral knowledge and a strong track record in strategic development and operational delivery. Paul is an experienced senior executive having previously served as Managing Director of The Irish Times Group and has held senior executive roles within ESB, as well as a number of board positions.
