Ardian, a global private investment firm, has completed the acquisition of Energia Group from I Squared Capital. This exciting development positions Energia Group for continued investment in the energy transition and reflects Ardian’s long-term confidence in Energia’s strategic position and future growth.

The transaction will have no impact on customers, employees, partners or suppliers and we remain committed to delivering our strategy and supporting Ireland’s sustainable energy future.

In recent months the Group has successfully completed the commissioning of two further onshore wind farms, bringing 50 MW of new renewable electricity to the grid, supported by Corporate Power Purchase Agreements with Microsoft.

In addition to this we have:

  • commenced construction of our first utility-scale solar farm;
  •  made further progress on a significant pipeline of new onshore wind and solar projects that can contribute to 2030 climate and energy targets;
  • commenced construction of our Huntstown Data Centre, a leading example of the opportunities at the intersection of energy and data that can power a modern economy;
  •  entered into contracts for the refurbishment of our Huntstown power plants, which will remain critical to security of supply for the foreseeable future; and,
  •  we have continued to provide excellent service and support to our customers, as well as new products and services to help them take control of their energy future.
