Energia Group retains ‘B’ Mark for 2025 recognising ESG efforts & transparency
Energia Group has once again, retained a ‘B’ mark for its disclosure to CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) for 2025.

The mark recognises our company’s transparency on environmental issues and sustainability by CDP, the global environmental non-profit that runs the world’s only independent disclosure system.
Our ’B’ rating was based on data disclosed through CDP’s questionnaire which applies a rigorous and independent methodology to evaluate disclosure quality, risk awareness, environmental management, and evidence of best practice. Scores range from A to D-, reflecting the degree of ambition, target-setting and action.
Energia Group is delighted to retain the ‘B’ mark demonstrating our continued commitment to climate action, sustainability, and prioritisation of our environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. We are committed to Ireland’s decarbonisation ambitions, investment in renewable and flexible generation technologies, while empowering our customers, employees and the communities in which we serve.
Louise Patterson, Group Chief Financial Officer & ESG Sponsor said,
“The retention of the CDP ‘B’ mark this year reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability in all business activities across Energia Group. This annual process also highlights areas where we can continue to improve as we play a leading role in the energy transition across the island of Ireland. Doing business sustainably is a priority for all of us across the Group, as it is for our customers, the communities within which we operate, investors, and a wide range of other stakeholders.”
Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP said,
“A CDP score is a sign of commitment to high-quality data that enables companies to take earth-positive economic decisions that future-proof their operations, improving access to capital, competitiveness and compliance. Tackling environmental risks head-on will create a more resilient economy and increase companies’ ability to innovate and invest. We look forward to seeing all companies build on their accolade and turn their commitments into meaningful and effective action.”
We continue to evolve our sustainability disclosures and practices, and transparency on the activities undertaken across the Group. Each year we report on how we do business responsibly via our Responsible Business Report and on how our business activities closely align with six of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 5 (Gender Equality), 7 (Affordable & Clean Energy), 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth), 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure), 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities) and 13 (Climate Action).
Recently, we were shortlisted for Green Large Organisation and the ESG Best Performer of the Year for companies with 1,000+ employees by the Green Awards organisation.
