Seven Hills Wind Farm, Co. Roscommon
Seven Hills Wind Farm
Energia Renewables are constructing a wind farm and 110 kV substation in south Roscommon. Construction is scheduled to start in the summer of 2026.

Wind farm site statistics
The wind farm is made up of 17 wind turbines, generating 122.4 MW of renewable energy – enough to meet the annual electricity needs of almost 70,000 Irish households.
The development will have a 30-year operational life from the date of commissioning.

Planning permission
The Seven Hills Wind Farm was granted planning permission in November 2023. To find out more, visit An Coimisiún Pleanála 313750 | An Coimisiún Pleanála -
Planning permission for the 110 kV substation was approved by An Coimisiún Pleanála in July 2025. Details can be found here: 321238 | An Coimisiún Pleanála -. Please note that this project has changed name from Moyvannan to Feamore 110 kV Substation, as agreed with EirGrid. (October 2025)

Feamore 110 kV Substation
The proposed Feamore 110 kV substation is located in the townland of Moyvannan, Kiltoom, Co. Roscommon. It will facilitate the export of renewable energy from the Seven Hills Wind Farm into the national electricity network.
Together, the wind farm and substation projects will help Ireland to achieve its 2030 Climate Action targets and increase security of energy supply.

Construction updates
Work on site is expected commence in the summer of 2026.
This website will be updated regularly with news of developments on site.

Turbine delivery route
Turbine components, including blades, tower sections and nacelles, will be transported along the national and regional road network.
We will post updates here.

Community benefit fund
We want local people to see and feel the benefit of renewable energy through our wind farm benefit funds, which support community groups, voluntary organisations and environmental projects situated near our wind farms.
The Seven Hills annual community benefit fund will be designed to meet the needs of the local area and will be administered by an independent charitable foundation on behalf of Energia.
Local community groups will be invited to apply for the first round of project grants after one year of wind farm operation.

Working with schools
The Energia Renewables Operations team are happy to facilitate school visits or classroom talks on renewable energy:
- Discover… how wind turbines generate electricity
- Look… inside a turbine tower
- Learn… how drones play a key role in turbine maintenance
- Explore... the need for climate action and energy transition
- Think... about a career in renewable energy
