Solar Projects

Glenamoy, Co. Meath

We are developing plans for a 30MW solar installation near Julianstown in County Meath.

Proposed Glenamoy solar farm development

Energia Renewables are developing plans for a solar PV installation in the townland of Ballymad, near Julianstown in County Meath.  The proposed solar installation will connect into the local electricity network and will have an export capacity of up to 30 MW MEC.

Original plans for a larger project have been scaled back.  The new project boundary  is shown in pink on the map.

The previously consented 20 MW Glenamoy House solar project, which received planning permission in 2018, is shown in green.

Key site statistics

The site has been carefully selected and is well screened with mature hedgerows comprising trees and shrubs.

We have undertaken a wide range of environmental assessments, including landscape and visual, heritage and archaeology, ecology, hydrology, glint and glare - and more.

The project  will help Ireland to reach its 80% renewable electricity target by 2030, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and increasing security of energy supply.

We have created an information brochure, which you can view or download here.
